Description:

Leride 2mg Tablets contain Glimepiride, a long-acting oral sulfonylurea antidiabetic agent used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It stimulates insulin release from functioning pancreatic β-cells and increases peripheral insulin sensitivity, thereby helping to control blood glucose levels. Glimepiride has a lower risk of hypoglycemia compared to older sulfonylureas and is often used as monotherapy or in combination with metformin or insulin.

Key Features:

  • Effective once-daily oral treatment for type 2 diabetes.

  • Promotes insulin release and improves insulin action.

  • Lower incidence of hypoglycemia with proper dosing.

  • Can be combined with other antidiabetic agents.

  • Well-tolerated with minimal gastrointestinal side effects.

Dosage & Administration:

  • Adults: Initially 1–2 mg once daily with breakfast or first main meal.

  • Dosage may be adjusted in increments of 1–2 mg at 1–2 week intervals based on blood glucose response.
