Description:

Leveret 250mg Tablets contain Levetiracetam, a broad-spectrum antiepileptic drug (AED) used for the management of partial-onset seizures, myoclonic seizures, and primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures. It acts by modulating synaptic neurotransmitter release through binding to synaptic vesicle protein SV2A, thereby stabilizing neuronal activity without affecting normal neuronal excitability.

Key Features:

  • Effective in a wide range of seizure types.

  • Rapid onset of action with favorable safety profile.

  • Minimal drug interactions—suitable for combination therapy.

  • Well-tolerated with low risk of sedation or cognitive impairment.

  • Available in multiple strengths for dose titration.

Dosage & Administration:

  • Adults and adolescents ≥16 years: Starting dose is typically 500 mg/day in two divided doses.

  • Dose may be adjusted based on response and tolerability.

  • 250 mg strength is commonly used for dose titration or in low-dose therapy.

  • Can be taken with or without food.

  • Always follow the physician’s prescribed dosing schedule.

Precautions:

  • Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Levetiracetam.

  • Use with caution in patients with renal impairment—dose adjustment required.

  • Monitor for mood changes, depression, or behavioral abnormalities.

  • Possible side effects include dizziness, fatigue, somnolence, and irritability.

  • Gradual withdrawal is advised to prevent seizure recurrence.

Storage:

  • Store below 25 °C in a cool, dry place.

  • Protect from moisture and direct sunlight.

  • Keep out of reach of children.
