Description:

Maximus 1gm Injection contains Ceftriaxone, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell death. Ceftriaxone is widely used for severe infections such as meningitis, septicemia, respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and surgical prophylaxis.

  • IV: Dissolve in 10 mL sterile water or compatible IV fluids; administer over 2–4 minutes or as infusion.

• Adjust dose in renal and hepatic impairment as per medical guidance.

• Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins.

• Use cautiously in penicillin-allergic patients due to potential cross-reactivity.

• Monitor for allergic reactions, especially with first administration.

• Prolonged use may cause superinfection or Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea.

• Avoid concurrent use with calcium-containing IV solutions in neonates.
